Godless

A while ago I had this fun idea to do some mock singles covers for songs by my favorite band of all time, The Dandy Warhols. It would be a fun exercise in drawing things out of my comfort zone - still lifes, scenery, typography, etc. And then I ended up taking it super seriously and really dragged my feet on finishing the first one.

So here's Godless, the first of maybe 8-12. Godless is my very favorite song - not even just by the Dandys, my favorite song period - so I wanted to get it just right. I got a little self indulgent and used my favorite animal, a black ram, for a little symbolism. Also the central Oregon landmark in the background is Smith Rock, which I was totally awed by when I visited it a few months ago. Alongside the original is a color variant I included just because I thought it looked really cool.
